Discovery Learning in Preschool

Discovery Learning is an inquiry-based learning method. Discovery learning encourages students to ask questions and formulate their own tentative answers, and to deduce general principles from practical examples or experience. Discovery learning believes it is best for learners to discover facts and relationships for themselves. Discovery learning can involve manipulating objects, tackling questions and performing experiments. The role of the student in discovery learning is to build upon previous knowledge and have an open idea of thinking. The teacher’s role is to engage students in problems or situations that allow for discovery and questioning.
